These Regulations may be cited as the Dairy Produce Quotas (Amendment) Regulations 1993 and shall come into force on 24th December 1993.

In these Regulations, “the principal Regulations” means the Dairy Produce Quotas Regulations 1993.

The principal Regulations shall be amended in accordance with the following provisions of these Regulations.

In regulation 2(1) of the principal Regulations—
(a) after the definition of “Commission Regulation” there shall be inserted the definition:“
 “Community compensation scheme” means the scheme instituted by Council Regulation (EEC) No.2187/93 providing for an offer of compensation to certain producers of milk and milk products temporarily prevented from carrying on their trade and Commission Regulation (EEC) No.2648/93 laying down detailed rules for the application of Council Regulation (EEC) No.2187/93;”;
(b) for the definition of “Community legislation” there shall be substituted the definition;“
 “Community legislation” means the Council Regulation, the Commission Regulation and the Community compensation scheme;”.

After regulation 30 of the principal Regulations there shall be inserted—“
30A 
Where a producer has submitted an application for compensation in accordance with the Community compensation scheme and it appears to the Minister that the producer has made a false or misleading statement in his application, or has failed to comply with any of the requirements of that scheme, the Minister may withhold or recover on demand from that producer the whole or any part of the compensation payable or paid to him.”.
