(1) This Order may be cited as the New Town (Cumbernauld) Winding Up Order 1993 and shall come into force on 1st January 1994.
(2) In this Order–
 “development corporation” means the Cumbernauld Development Corporation established by the New Town (Cumbernauld) (Development Corporation) Order 1956;
 “Special Development Order” means the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) (New Town of Cumbernauld) (Special Development) Order 1973.

The development corporation shall be wound up and the winding up shall–
(a) commence on 1st January 1994; and
(b) be completed by 31st December 1996.

The development corporation shall make an interim report to the Secretary of State on the progress of the winding up–
(a) for the period commencing on 1st January 1994 and ending on 31st March 1994;
(b) for the period commencing on 1st April 1994 and ending on 31st March 1995; and
(c) for the period commencing on 1st April 1995 and ending on 31st March 1996,and, in relation to each of the said periods, the development corporation shall submit the report to the Secretary of State by 30th June in the relevant year.

The development corporation shall comply with any directions made in relation to it by the Secretary of State under section 36C of the New Towns (Scotland) Act 1968.

On 31st March 1996 the Special Development Order is hereby revoked.

Notwithstanding article 5 above, where any development was authorised development within the meaning of article 3(2) and (3) of the Special Development Order by virtue of an authorisation in writing issued by the development corporation on or before 31st March 1996, or would have been such development if carried out on or before that date, the carrying out of that development by such persons as are mentioned in the said article 3(2) shall by virtue hereof be permitted during the period beginning with 1st April 1996 and ending with 31st March 2001 subject to limitations and conditions (so far as applicable to that development) corresponding to those contained in the said Order.
