This Order may be cited as the Combined Probation Areas (Dorset) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 1st January 1994.

That part of Schedule 2 to the Combined Probation Areas Order 1986 which relates to the Dorset Probation Area shall be amended by—
(a) omitting the entries in respect of the petty sessions areas of Blandford and Sturminster, Bournemouth, Bridport, Christchurch, Dorchester, Shaftesbury, Sherborne, Wareham and Wimborne; and
(b) inserting in alphabetical order in column 1
(i) “Bournemouth and Christchurch” and corresponding to that in column 3 “7”,
(ii) “Central Dorset” and corresponding to that in column 3 “4”, and
(iii) “West Dorset” and corresponding to that in column 3 “3”.

The seven members of the Dorset Probation Committee appointed before 1st January 1994 by the justices for the petty sessions areas of Bournemouth and Christchurch shall continue in office as if they had been appointed by the justices for the new petty sessions area of Bournemouth and Christchurch.

The four members of the Dorset Probation Committee appointed before 1st January 1994 by the justices for the petty sessions areas of Blandford and Sturminster, Shaftesbury, Wareham and Wimborne shall continue in office as if they had been appointed by the justices for the new petty sessions area of Central Dorset.

The three members of the Dorset Probation Committee appointed before 1st January 1994 by the justices for the petty sessions areas of Bridport, Dorchester and Sherborne shall continue in office as if they had been appointed by the justices for the new petty sessions area of West Dorset.
