This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice Act 1993 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1993 and extends to England and Wales only.

(1) The provisions of the Criminal Justice Act 1993 referred to in the left-hand column of Schedule 1 to this Order (which relate to the matters described in the right-hand column of that Schedule) shall come into force on 16th August 1993.
(2) The provisions of that Act referred to in the left-hand column of Schedule 2 to this Order (which relate to the matters described in the right-hand column of that Schedule) shall come into force on 20th September 1993.
