These Regulations may be cited as the Employers' Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Exemption (Amendment) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 1st July 1994.

Regulation 3 of the Employers' Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Exemption Regulations 1971 shall be amended as follows:—
(a) at the end of paragraph (y) for the full stop there shall be substituted a semi-colon; and
(b) after paragraph (y) there shall be inserted the following new paragraph:—“
(z) any employer to the extent he is required to insure and maintain insurance by section 1(1) of the Act against liability for bodily injury sustained by his employee when the employee is—
(i) carried in or upon a vehicle; or
(ii) entering or getting on to, or alighting from, a vehicle,in the circumstances specified in that subsection and where that bodily injury is caused by, or arises out of, the use by the employer of a vehicle on a road; and the expressions “road”, “use” and “vehicle” have the same meanings as in Part VI of the Road Traffic Act 1988(a).”.
