(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Competition) (Tunbridge Wells Borough Council) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 1st January 1993.
(2) In these Regulations–
 “the Act” means the Local Government Act 1988, and
 “the principal Regulations” means the Local Government Act 1988 (Defined Activities) (Competition) (England) Regulations 1988.

(1) Regulation 4(2) of the principal Regulations shall, in its application to the Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, have effect as if–
(a) for the first reference to 1993 there were substituted a reference to 1992, and
(b) the last line of the table were omitted.
(2) In relation to functional work of any description falling within the defined activity mentioned in section 2(2)(f) of the Act (maintenance of ground) which is proposed to be carried out by the Tunbridge Wells Borough Council in the calendar year 1993, section 6 of the Act shall apply–
(a) in the period beginning on 1st January and ending on 30th June 1993, to such part of the work as is estimated by the authority to equal in value 60 per cent. of the value of earlier work (within the meaning of regulation 4(3) of the principal Regulations), and
(b) in the remaining period of the year, to such part of the work as is so estimated to equal in value 80 per cent. of the value of such earlier work.
