(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Electricity Supply (Amendment) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 1st January 1993.
(2) In these Regulations “the 1988 Regulations” means the Electricity Supply Regulations 1988.

In regulation 3(1) of the 1988 Regulations (interpretation)—
(a) after the definition of “bonding conductor” there shall be inserted the following definition—“
 “British Standard Requirements” means the British Standard, Require ments for Electrical Installations BS 7671: 1992, adopted by the British Standards Institution and the Institution of Electrical Engineers on 2nd October 1992, a copy of which is identified by the signature of the Minister for Energy, Department of Trade and Industry, as the British Standard Requirements referred to in these Regulations”;
(b) the definition of “Institution of Electrical Engineers Regulations” shall be deleted.

In regulation 27(2) of the 1988 Regulations (general conditions as to consumers) for the words “Institution of Electrical Engineers Regulations” there shall be substituted the words “British Standard Requirements”.

In the proviso to regulation 32 of the 1988 Regulations (interruptions of supply) after the words “as may be necessary” there shall be inserted the word “and”.
