This Order may be cited as the A23 Trunk Road (Purley Way, Croydon) (Prohibition of U-Turns) Order 1992 and shall come into force on 5th May 1992.

In this Order —
 “Purley Way” means that length of the A23 Trunk Road in the London Borough of Croydon known as Purley Way; and
 “the junction” means the junction of Purley Way with the roads known as Edgehill Road and Highfield Road in the London Borough of Croydon.

Save as provided in article 4 below, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle proceeding in Purley Way to make a U-turn at the junction so as to proceed in the opposite direction.
4 
Nothing in article 3 of this Order shall apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a constable in uniform.
