(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Income Support (General) Amendment No. 2 Regulations 1991 and shall, subject to paragraph (2) below, come into force on 8th April 1991 immediately after the Social Security Benefits Up-rating Order 1991 comes into force.
(2) These Regulations shall not apply in relation to a particular claimant until the beginning of the first benefit week to commence for that claimant on or after 8th April 1991 and for this purpose the expressions “claimant” and “benefit week” have the same meanings as in the General Regulations.
(3) In these Regulations “the General Regulations” means the Income Support (General) Regulations 1987.

In Schedule 4 to the General Regulations (applicable amounts of persons in residential care and nursing homes) in paragraph 11(1) for the words “any excess up to £23.00” there shall be substituted the following—“
 any excess up to—
(a) in the case of a residential care home, £23.00;
(b) in the case of a nursing home, £33.00.”.
