(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Overlapping Benefits) Amendment (No. 2) Regulations 1991 and shall come into force on 7th October 1991.
(2) In these Regulations “the Overlapping Benefits Regulations” means the Social Security (Overlapping Benefits) Regulations 1979.

In regulation 8 of the Overlapping Benefits Regulations (child benefit)—
(a) in paragraph (3) for the words “paragraph (4)” there shall be substituted the words “paragraphs (4) and (5)”;
(b) after paragraph (4) there shall be added the following paragraph—“
(5) No adjustment of benefit shall be made under paragraph (3) in respect of any increase in the weekly rate of child benefit payable to a person in consequence of regulation 2 of the Child Benefit and Social Security (Fixing and Adjustment of Rates) Amendment No. 2 Regulations 1991.”.
