This Order may be cited as the Sunderland (Castletown and Doxford Park) Enterprise Zones (Designation) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 27th April 1990.

In this Order, “the deposited map” means the set of maps, numbered 1 and 2, marked “Map referred to in the Sunderland (Castletown and Doxford Park) Enterprise Zones (Designation) Order 1990” prepared in duplicate and signed by an Under Secretary in the Department of the Environment, of which one duplicate has been deposited and is available for inspection at the principal offices of Sunderland Borough Council and the other duplicate has been deposited and is available for inspection at the offices of the Secretary of State for the Environment.

(1) The areas to which the Sunderland No. 2 – Castletown and the Sunderland No. 3 – Doxford Park Enterprise Zone Schemes relate and which are shown and marked as such on the deposited map are hereby designated as enterprise zones.
(2) The boundaries of each of the said enterprise zones are represented on the deposited map by the outside edge of the black line edged internally with a single stippled band.

Designation under article 3 of this Order shall take effect on 27th April 1990 and the designated areas shall remain enterprise zones for a period of 10 years from that date.

The Sunderland Borough Council is hereby designated as the enterprise zone authority for the Sunderland No. 2 – Castletown and the Sunderland No. 3 – Doxford Park Enterprise Zones.
