This Order may be cited as the Transport (Scotland) Act 1989 (Transfer of Shipping Companies) Appointed Day Order 1990 and shall come into force on 2nd April 1990.
2 
2nd April 1990 shall be the day appointed for the purposes of section 7 of the Transport (Scotland) Act 1989.
3 

(1) The enactments specified in the first column of Schedule 1 to this Order are hereby amended to the extent set out in the second column of that Schedule.
(2) For any reference in the enactments specified in Schedule 2 to this Order to the Scottish Transport Group, there shall be substituted a reference to Caledonian MacBrayne Limited.

SCHEDULE 1
Article 3(1)


Column 1 Column 2
Section 56(15) of the Transport Act 1962 in place of the words “the Scottish Group and their subsidiaries” there shall be substituted the words “Caledonian MacBrayne Limited”
Section 55(2) of the Transport Act 1968 
(1) in place of the words “the Scottish Group and any subsidiary of that Group, but shall not include road passenger transport services, or services or facilities provided by virtue of section 50(3) of this Act” there shall be substituted the words “Caledonian MacBrayne Limited”;
 
(2) in place of the words “the Scottish Group and their subsidiaries” and “the Scottish Group” where they occur in paragraphs (a) and (c) respectively there shall be substituted the words “Caledonian MacBrayne Limited”.
