(1) This Order may be cited as the Housing Support Grant (Scotland) Variation Order 1990 and shall come into force forthwith.
(2) In this Order “the Order of 1989” means the Housing Support Grant (Scotland) Order 1989.
(3) Unless the context otherwise requires, expressions used in this Order shall have the same meaning as in the Order of 1989.

For the aggregate amount of housing support grants and the general and hostel portions thereof fixed for the year 1989-90 by articles 2 and 3 of the Order of 1989 (as indicated in parenthesis in the second column of the following table) there shall be substituted the amount and portions set out in the third column thereof:–

(1) The general portion shall be apportioned among appropriate local authorities in proportion to their estimated net expenditures assessed in the manner provided in the Schedule to the Order of 1989.
(2) The hostel portion shall be apportioned among appropriate local authorities in proportion to their estimated net expenditures for the year 1989-90 on the provision of hostels and lodging houses.
