These Regulations may be cited as the Police Cadets (Amendment) Regulations 1990.

These Regulations shall come into force on 1st September 1990 and shall have effect for the purposes of regulation 3(a) and (b) as from 1st July 1989.

The Police Cadets Regulations 1979 shall be amended as follows:
(a) in regulation 13(1)(a) for the words “1st July 1988” there shall be substituted the words “1st July 1989” and for the words “31st August 1988” there shall be substituted the words “31st August 1989”;
(b) for the Table in Schedule 2 (scales of pay) there shall be substituted the following Table—“

Under 17 years £4,086 a year £3,384 a year
17 years £4,290 a year £3,588 a year
18 years or over £4,698 a year £3,996 a year
Part II — Pay from 1st September 1989
Under 17 years £4,398 a year £3,696 a year
17 years £4,623 a year £3,921 a year
18 years or over £5,067 a year £4,365 a year”
(c) for paragraph 2 of Schedule 3 (charge for board and lodging) there shall be substituted the following paragraph—“

The annual rate of charge shall be—
(a) in the case of a police cadet attached to the Metropolitan Police force, £558;
(b) in any other case, £516.”.
