These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (General Ophthalmic Services) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 1990 and shall come into force on 1st June 1990.

(1) Schedule 1 to the National Health Service (General Ophthalmic Services) (Scotland) Regulations 1986 (terms of service) is amended in accordance with the following provisions of this regulation.
(2) For paragraph 3 (arrangements for the provision of services) there is substituted:–“

(1) Subject to sub-paragraph (2), a contractor shall provide general ophthalmic services at any address which is included in relation to him in the ophthalmic list.
(2) A contractor may, on request being made by or on behalf of a patient, agree to provide general ophthalmic services at the place at which the patient normally resides.”.
(3) In paragraph 5 (notices) there are inserted after the words “services” where it first occurs the words “in accordance with paragraph 3(1)”.
(4) In paragraph 9(5) (payments) the words from “; or” to “request” are omitted.
