This Order may be cited as the Bristol Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) (Amendment) Order 1988 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is approved by resolution of each House of Parliament.

In this Order—
 “the principal Order” means the Bristol Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) Order 1988;
 “the development area” means the area designated as an urban development area by the principal Order;
 “the map” means the map entitled “Map referred to in the Bristol Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) (Amendment) Order 1988”, of which prints signed by an Under Secretary in the Department of the Environment are deposited and available for inspection at the offices of the Secretary of State for the Environment and the offices of the councils of the county of Avon and the city of Bristol.

The principal Order is hereby amended so as to exclude from the development area the four areas of land which are shown hatched black on the map.
