(1) This Order may be cited as the Education Reform Act 1988 (Commencement No. 7) Order 1989.
(2) In this Order–“the Act” means the Education Reform Act 1988.

The provisions of the Act specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this Order (which relate to the matters mentioned in column 2 thereof) shall, except as otherwise provided in the said column 1, come into force on 1st May 1989.
