These Regulations may be cited as the Medicines (Animal Feeding Stuffs) (Enforcement) (Amendment) Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on 1st January 1990.

The Medicines (Animal Feeding Stuffs) (Enforcement) Regulations 1985 shall be amended as follows–
 In regulation 1(1) (interpretation)–
(1) for the definition of “animal feeding stuff” there shall be substituted–“
 “animal feeding stuff” includes intermediate feed, a complete feeding stuff, a feed supplement and a protein concentrate;”;
(2) after the definition of “feed supplement” there shall be inserted the following definition–“
 “intermediate feed” means a medicated feeding stuff sold, supplied or imported for use wholly or mainly as an ingredient in the preparation of a substance which is to be fed to one or more animals for a medicinal purpose or for purposes that include that purpose, with or without further processing;”.
