In these Regulations—
 “the 1981 Confirmation Instrument” means the Edinburgh City Bypass (Colinton Section and Connecting Roads) Special Roads Scheme 1980 Confirmation Instrument 1981();
 “the 1989 Confirmation Instrument” means the Edinburgh City Bypass (Sighthill, Burdiehouse, Gilmerton and Millerhill Sections and Connecting Roads) Special Roads Scheme 1988 and the Edinburgh City Bypass (Sighthill, Burdiehouse, Gilmerton and Millerhill Sections and Connecting Roads) Special Roads (Appropriation) Order 1988 Confirmation Instrument 1989().

These Regulations may be cited as the Edinburgh City Bypass (Sighthill, Colinton, Burdiehouse, Gilmerton and Millerhill Sections and Connecting Roads) (Speed Limit) Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on such date as may be declared by a notice published as mentioned in section 1(4) of the said Act to be the date on which the special roads described in the Schedule to the 1989 Confirmation Instrument are open for use as a special road.

No person shall drive any motor vehicle on the special roads described in the Schedules to the 1981 Confirmation Instrument and the 1989 Confirmation Instrument at a speed greater than 70 m.p.h.

The Edinburgh City Bypass (Colinton Section and Connecting Roads) (Speed Limit) Regulations 1983() are hereby revoked.
