This Order may be cited as the Renfrew and Cunninghame Districts (Caldwell House Estate) Boundaries Amendment Order 1989, and shall come into force on 1st December 1989.

In this Order—
 “the 1977 Regulations” means the Local Government Area Changes (Scotland) Regulations 1977( ); and
 “boundary map” means the map prepared by the Scottish Office marked “The Renfrew and Cunninghame Districts (Caldwell House Estate) Boundaries Amendment Order 1989 Map” and deposited in accordance with regulation 3 of the 1977 Regulations;and, in the Schedule to this Order, any reference to a boundary of a district is a reference to a boundary existing immediately before the commencement of this Order.

Save insofar as they can have no application in relation to the area change effected by this Order, the provisions of the 1977 Regulations shall apply in relation thereto for the purposes of, or in consequence of, this Order.

Part of Cunninghame District, comprising an area of ground at Caldwell House Estate, and being the area described in the Schedule to this Order, and shown delineated and hatched on the boundary map, shall be transferred to Renfrew District.

The area described in the Schedule to this Order (being the area transferred by article 4 of this Order)—
(a) shall cease to form part of electoral division 91 (Garnock Valley) of Strathclyde Region( ) and of ward 18 (Garnock East) of Cunninghame District( ); and
(b) shall form part of electoral division 79 (Barrhead) of Strathclyde Region and of ward 25 (Neilston) of Renfrew District( ).

Articles 2, 4 and 5

The area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the Cunninghame/Renfrew District boundary on the west side of the B775 road, grid reference NS 4087 5433; southwestwards along the west side of that road to its junction with the B777 road at a point grid reference NS 4067 5380; generally southeastwards along the northeast side of the B777 road to its junction with the A736 road at a point grid reference NS 4122 5303; northeastwards along the north side of the A736 road to the Cunninghame/Kilmarnock and Loudoun District boundary at the point at which the A736 road crosses the Lugton Water, grid reference NS 4131 5304; then northeastwards along the Cunninghame/Kilmarnock and Loudoun District boundary to a point at which it meets the Cunninghame/Renfrew District boundary, grid reference NS 4209 5436; then northwestwards, southwestwards and northwestwards along the Cunninghame/Renfrew District boundary to the point of commencement.
