This Order shall come into force on 1st June 1988 and may be cited as the Consular Fees (Amendment) Order 1988.

Part II of the table of consular fees in the Schedule annexed to the Consular Fees Order 1987 shall be amended as follows—
(a) in Fee 20(a) the word“Issuing” shall be replaced by the words“Receiving an application for”; and
(b) for Fee 22 there shall be substituted the following provision:—“

(a) Receiving an application outside the United Kingdom for an entry clearance, certificate of entitlement to the right of abode, or a confirmation of the right of abode  60.00
unless

(b) the applicant seeks entry for employment or self-employment for a period of six months or less, or as a returning resident, visitor, student, passenger in transit,“au pair” or for a working holiday in which case the fee is:

(i) for one entry 20.00

(ii) for two entries 30.00
or

(iii) for multiple entries 44.00”or such sums, (being equivalent of fees charged by the authorities of any State for receiving or granting an application for an entry clearance to a British Citizen), as the Secretary of State, with the consent of the Treasury, directs to be taken for receiving an application for an entry clearance from a national or citizen of that State
