This Order may be cited as the A1 Trunk Road (Barnet Way, Barnet) (Prescribed Routes) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 3rd April 1988.

In this Order:—
 “Barnet Way” means that length of the London-Edinburgh-Thurso Trunk Road (A1) in the London Borough of Barnet known as Barnet Way;
 “central reservation” means that part of Barnet Way which separates the two carriageways of Barnet Way for the safety and guidance of vehicles using that road;
 “the junction” means the junction of Barnet Way and Marsh Lane;
 “the outer northbound right-turn lane” means the traffic lane, being part of the northbound carriageway of Barnet Way which is bounded on its eastern side by the central reservation, has a width of approximately 2.75 metres and extends from the junction southwards for a distance of 58 metres; and
 “the inner northbound right-turn lane” means the traffic lane, being part of the northbound carriageway of Barnet Way, which is bounded on its eastern side by the outer northbound right-turn lane, has a width of approximately 2.75 metres and extends from the junction southwards for a distance of 58 metres.

Every person causing any vehicle to proceed in the outer northbound right-turn lane and in the inner northbound right-turn lane shall cause that vehicle to turn right.

No person shall cause or permit any vehicle proceeding in the northbound carriageway of Barnet Way, other than in the outer northbound right-turn lane and the inner northbound right-turn lane, to turn right at the junction.

Nothing in this Order shall apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a traffic warden.
