(1) This Order may be cited as the Northamptonshire and Warwickshire (County Boundaries) Order 1988.
(2) This Order shall come into force on 25th March 1988 for any purpose set out in regulation 4(1) (coming into operation of order) of the Local Government Area Changes Regulations 1976.
(3) For all other purposes this Order shall come into force on 1st April 1988.

In this Order “boundary map” means one of the 3 maps prepared by the Department of the Environment, marked “Maps of the Northamptonshire and Warwickshire (County Boundaries) Order 1988”, duly numbered for reference, and deposited in accordance with regulation 5 of the Local Government Area Changes Regulations 1976.

(1) The parts of the county of Northamptonshire, the district of Daventry and the parish of Barby which are marked B1 to B6 on boundary map 1 shall be transferred to—
(a) the county of Warwickshire and the Dunchurch electoral division of that county;
(b) the borough of Rugby and the Dunchurch and Thurlaston ward of that borough; and
(c) the parish of Dunchurch.
(2) The parts of the county of Northamptonshire, the district of Daventry and the parish of Barby which are marked B7 and B8 on boundary maps l and 2 shall be transferred to—
(a) the county of Warwickshire and the Rugby Caldecott electoral division of that county; and
(b) the borough of Rugby and the Caldecott ward of that borough,
and shall cease to form part of any parish.
(3) The parts of the county of Northamptonshire, the district of Daventry and the parish of Barby which are marked B9 to B11 on boundary maps 2 and 3 shall be transferred to—
(a) the county of Warwickshire and the Rugby Caldecott electoral division of that county; and
(b) the borough of Rugby and the Paddox ward of that borough,
and shall cease to form part of any parish.
(4) The part of the county of Northamptonshire, the district of Daventry and the parish of Barby which is marked B12 on boundary map 3 shall be transferred to—
(a) the county of Warwickshire and the Rugby Hillmorton electoral division of that county; and
(b) the borough of Rugby and the Hillmorton ward of that borough,
and shall cease to form part of any parish.

(1) The parts of the county of Warwickshire, the borough of Rugby and the parish of Dunchurch which are marked A1 to A8 on boundary map 1 shall be transferred to—
(a) the county of Northamptonshire and the Braunston electoral division of that county;
(b) the district of Daventry and the Barby ward of that district; and
(c) the parish of Barby.
(2) The parts of the county of Warwickshire and the borough of Rugby which are marked A9 to A11 on boundary maps 1 and 2 shall be transferred to—
(a) the county of Northamptonshire and the Braunston electoral division of that county; and
(b) the district of Daventry and the Barby ward of that district,
and shall become part of the parish of Barby.
(3) The parts of the county of Warwickshire and the borough of Rugby which are marked A12 and A13 on boundary map 3 shall be transferred to—
(a) the county of Northamptonshire and the Braunston electoral division of that county; and
(b) the district of Daventry and the Kilsby ward of that district,
and shall become part of the parish of Kilsby.

The areas transferred to the county of Warwickshire by article 3 of this Order shall form part of the Rugby petty sessional division and the Warwickshire Coroner’s district, and the areas transferred to the county of Northamptonshire by article 4 of this Order shall form part of the Daventry petty sessional division and the Northamptonshire Coroner’s district.

Any provisions of a structure plan, an old development plan (within the meaning of paragraph 2 of Schedule 7 to the Town and Country Planning Act 1971), or a local plan adopted by a county or district council which apply immediately before 1st April 1988 to an area transferred by this Order shall continue to have effect in relation to that area as if they were part of such a plan made or adopted by the council of the county or district to which that area is transferred.
