This Order may be cited as the Consumer Protection Act 1987 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 31st December 1988.

In this Order “the 1987 Act” means the Consumer Protection Act 1987.

(a) Section 48(2)(a) of the 1987 Act (which provides that the Trade Descriptions Act 1972 shall cease to have effect);
(b) Section 48(3) of the 1987 Act insofar as it gives effect to the repeal in Schedule 5 to the 1987 Act of the Trade Descriptions Act 1972; and
(c) the entry in Schedule 5 to the 1987 Act relating to the Trade Descriptions Act 1972
shall come into force on 31st December 1988.
