(1) This Order may be cited as the Environmentally Sensitive Areas Designation (Wales) (Amendment) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 1st March 1988.
(2) In this Order “the principal Orders” means the statutory instruments set out in the Schedule to this Order.

The principal Orders shall each be amended in accordance with articles 3 and 4 below.

In article 2(1) (interpretation) there shall be inserted immediately after the definition of “broadleaved woodland” the following definition:—“
 “cow” means a female bovine animal which has calved at least twice;”.

In article 2(1) (interpretation) there shall be substituted for the  definition of “livestock unit” the following definition:—“
 “livestock unit” means—
(a) 1 cow, or
(b) 1.25 bovine animals (other than cows) more than two years old, or
(c) 1.6 bovine animals (other than cows) from one year old to two years old inclusive, or
(d) 2.5 bovine animals less than one year old, or
(e) 6.66 sheep;”.
