This Order may be cited as the Importation of Bees (Amendment) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 4th June 1987.

The Importation of Bees Order 1980 shall be amended as follows—
(a) in article 2 (interpretation) after the definition of “bees” there shall be added the following definition—““bee pests” means any organisms or pathogens which are injurious to bees or any cultures of any such organisms or pathogens;” and
(b) in article 3 (prohibition of importation of bees), article 4 (general licences) and article 5 (specific licences) after the word “bees” wherever it appears in those articles there shall be added the words “or bee pests”.
