(1) These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (General Medical and Pharmaceutical Services) (Scotland) Amendment (No. 2) Regulations 1987 and shall come into force on 6th April 1987.
(2) In these Regulations “the principal regulations” means the National Health Service (General Medical and Pharmaceutical Services) (Scotland) Regulations 1974.

After paragraph 10(5)(b) of Schedule 1 Part I (terms of service for doctors) to the principal regulations, but before the proviso, there shall be inserted the following:–“
(c)  Part V of and Schedule 4 Part I to the Social Security Act 1986 shall be issued in accordance with any regulations made under that Act.”

In Schedule 4 to the principal regulations (list of prescribed medical certificates) there shall be inserted in the list of short titles of enactments opposite item 1 the following:–
 “Social Security Act 1986 (1986 c. 50)”.
