These Regulations may be cited as the Family Income Supplements (Computation) Regulations 1987 and shall come into force on 7th April 1987.

(1) The prescribed amount for any family for the purposes of section 1(2) of the the Family Income Supplements Act 1970 shall be the amount specified in paragraph (2) or (3) below as the case may be.
(2) Where the family includes only one child the prescribed amount shall be—
(a) £100.70, if the child is aged under 11;
(b) £101.75, if the child is aged under 16 but not less than 11;
(e) £102.80, if the child is aged 16 or over.
(3) Where the family includes more than one child the prescribed amount shall be the aggregate of whatever would be applicable under paragraph (2) above if the first child were the only child plus, for each additional child—
(a) aged under 11, £11.90;
(b) aged under 16 but not less than 11, £12.95;
(c) aged 16 or over; £l4.00.

(1) The weekly rate of family income supplement shall not exceed the amount specified in paragraph (2) or (3) below as the case may be.
(2) Where the family includes only one child the weekly rate of family income supplement shall not exceed —
(a) £25.85, if the child is aged under 11;
(b) £26.40, if the child is aged under 16 but not less than 11;
(c) £26.90, if the child is aged 16 or over.
(3) Where the family includes more than one child, the weekly rate of family income supplement shall not exceed the aggregate of whatever would be applicable under paragraph (2) above, if the first child were the only child plus, for each additional child —
(a) aged under 11, £2.60;
(b) aged under 16 but not less than 11, £3.l5;
(c) aged 16 or over, £3.65.

The Family Income Supplements (Computation) Regulations 1986are hereby revoked.
