This Order may be cited as the Electricity Generating Stations (Fuel Control) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 27th January 1988.

Notice under section 14(1) of the Act need not be given to the Secretary of State in any case where the plant to be installed or converted in the electricity generating station to which the proposed works relate will have a capacity such that the generating capacity of the station, when established or converted, will be less than 10 megawatts.

Authority is hereby given for any person —
(a) to enter into contractual or other arrangements for obtaining a supply of natural gas as fuel for an electricity generating station with a generating capacity of less than 10 megawatts; and
(b) to extend the duration of any such arrangements (whether made before or after this Order comes into force),without giving notice to the Secretary of State under section 14(2) of the Act.
