This Order may be cited as the Tayside and Fife Regions and Perth and Kinross and North East Fife Districts (Auchtermuchty) Boundaries Amendment Order 1987, and shall come into force on 15th February 1988.

In this Order—
 “the 1977 Regulations” means the Local Government Area Changes (Scotland) Regulations 1977(); and
 “boundary map” means the map prepared by the Scottish Office, marked “The Tayside and Fife Regions and Perth and Kinross and North East Fife Districts (Auchtermuchty) Boundaries Amendment Order 1987 Map” and deposited in accordance with regulation 3 of the 1977 Regulations;
and, in the Schedule to this Order, any reference to a boundary of a region is a reference to a boundary existing immediately before the commencement of this Order.

The 1977 Regulations shall apply for the purposes of this Order to such extent as may be required to implement the area change effected by article 4 of this Order.

Part of Perth and Kinross District of Tayside Region containing farm properties to the north west of the village of Auchtermuchty, being the area described in the Schedule to this Order and shown delineated and hatched on the boundary map, shall be transferred to North East Fife District of Fife Region.

The area described in the Schedule to this Order (being the area transferred by article 4 of this Order)—
(a) shall cease to form part of electoral division 45 (Gowrie) of Tayside Region() and ward 26 (Dunearn) of Perth and Kinross District(); and
(b) shall form part of electoral division 22 (Auchtermuchty/Newburgh) of Fife Region() and ward 5 (Auchtermuchty/Strathmiglo) of North East Fife District().

Articles 4 and 5

The area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the existing regional boundary at grid reference NO 20001395, thence by field boundaries northwestwards and thence northeastwards to a fence corner at Seven Gates at grid reference NO 20911545, thence by a track through Clunie Wood to rejoin the existing regional boundary at grid reference NO 21771580, thence generally southeastwards thereafter generally westwards along that boundary to the point of commencement.
