(1) This Order may be cited as the Continental Shelf (Designated Areas) (Extended Territorial Sea) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 1st October 1987.
(2) This Order and the Orders recited in the preamble to this Order may be cited together as the Continental Shelf (Designation of Areas) Orders 1964 to 1987.

Subject to Article 3 of this Order, the Continental Shelf (Designation of Areas) Orders 1964 to 1982 shall have effect without change, except that no part of the sea or sea bed and subsoil within the seaward limits of the territorial sea as extended by or under the Territorial Sea Act 1987 shall be regarded as forming part of a designated area.

In respect of the matters referred to in section 2(3) and (4) of the Territorial Sea Act 1987 (which continue in effect certain legislation and instruments relating to coal and petroleum), the Continental Shelf (Designation of Areas) Orders 1964 to 1982 shall continue to have effect as they had effect immediately before the coming into force of the Territorial Sea Act 1987.
