(1) This Order may be cited as the Transport Act 1985 (Commencement No.7) Order 1987.
(2) In this Order, “the 1985 Act” means the Transport Act 1985.

(1) The 1985 Act, except to the extent it is already in force and except for the provisions specified in paragraph (2) of this article, shall come into force on 13th August 1987.
(2) The provisions of the 1985 Act not already in force and excepted from coming into force under this Order are:
(a) section 139(3) in so far as it relates to the provision of Schedule 8 specified in sub-paragraph (b) of this paragraph; and
(b) in Schedule 8, the repeal of the words “such number of” and “as they think fit” in section 37 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847.

There shall be added to regulation 5(3) of the Motor Vehicles (Tests) Regulations 1981 the following sub-paragraph:“or (c) section 21(2) of the Transport Act 1985 (a small bus operating under a permit granted under section 19 of that Act).”.
