This order may be cited as the Rabies (Importation of Dogs, Cats and Other Mammals) (Amendment) Order 1986 and shall come into operation on 1st January 1987.

The Rabies (Importation of Dogs, Cats and Other Mammals) Order 1974  shall be amended as follows:—
(a) in Article 2(1) (interpretation) for the definition of “harbour” there shall be substituted the following definition:—“

 “harbour” means any harbour, whether natural or artificial, and any port, haven, estuary, tidal or other river or inland waterway, and includes a dock, a wharf, any place at which hovercraft are loaded or unloaded and, in Scotland, a boatslip being a marine work within the meaning of section 57 of the Harbours Act 1964 ;
”;
(b) in Part I of Schedule 2 (ports at which authorised landings of animals may take place) for the words “Harwich, Navyard Wharf and Parkeston Quay” there shall be substituted the words “Harwich, Parkeston Quay”; and
(c) in Part II of Schedule 2 (airports at which authorised landings of animals may take place) after “Manchester” there shall be inserted “Norwich”.
