(1) These regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (Superannuation – Special Provisions) Amendment Regulations 1986 and shall come into operation on 11th March 1986.
(2) In these regulations “the principal regulations” means the National Health Service (Superannuation – Special Provisions) Regulations 1985.

(1) The principal regulations shall be amended in accordance with the provisions of this regulation.
(2) In regulation 3, for the words “These regulations” there shall be substituted the words “This regulation”.
(3) In regulation 5—
(a) in paragraphs (2)(a) and (3)(a) after the words “payable to” there shall be inserted the word “other”;
(b) in paragraph (4), for the words “a person's average remuneration” there shall be substituted the words “the average remuneration of a person to whom regulation 3 applies”;
(c) in paragraph (5), for the words “a person's remuneration” there shall be substituted the words “the remuneration of a person to whom regulation 3 applies”;
(d) in paragraph (6), after the words “a person”, there shall be inserted the words “to whom regulation 3 applies”.

Regulation 2 shall have effect from 1st April 1974.
