This Order may be cited as the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (Modification) Order 1985 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1986.

(1) Schedule 2 to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (which, as amended, specifies the drugs which are subject to control under that Act) shall be amended in accordance with the following provisions of this Article.
(2) In paragraph 1(a) of Part II of that Schedule—
(a) the word “Dexamphetamine” shall be omitted;
(b) after the words “Ethylmorphine (3-ethylmorphine)” there shall be inserted the words “Glutethimide” and “Lefetamine”; and
(c) after the word “Norcodeine” there shall be inserted the word “Pentazocine”.
(3) In paragraph 1 of Part III of that Schedule—
(a) at the beginning there shall be inserted the word “Alprazolam”;
(b) after the word “Benzphetamine” there shall be inserted the words “Bromazepam”, “Camazepam” and “Chlordiazepoxide”;
(c) after the word “Chlorphentermine” there shall be inserted the words “Clobazam”, “Clonazepam”, “Clorazepic acid”, “Clotiazepam”, “Cloxazolam” and “Delorazepam”;
(d) after the word “Dextropropoxyphene” there shall be inserted the word “Diazepam”;
(e) after the word “Diethylpropion” there shall be inserted the words “Estazolam”, “Ethchlorvynol”, “Ethinamate”, “Ethyl loflazepate”, “Fludiazepam”, “Flunitrazepam”, “Flurazepam”, “Halazepam”, “Haloxazolam”, “Ketazolam”, “Loprazolam”, “Lorazepam”, “Lormetazepam”, “Mazindol”, and “Medazepam”;
(f) after the word “Mephentermine” there shall be inserted the words “Meprobamate”, “Methyprylone”, “Nimetazepam”, “Nitrazepam”, “Nordazepam”, “Oxazepam” and “Oxazolam”;
(g) after the word “Phendimetrazine” there shall be inserted the words “Phentermine” and “Pinazepam”; and
(h) after the word “Pipradrol” there shall be inserted the words “Prazepam”, “Temazepam”, “Tetrazepam” and “Triazolam”.
