These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Tests) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 1985 and shall come into operation on 8th January 1986.

The Motor Vehicles (Tests) Regulations 1981 are hereby amended as follows:—
(a) in the regulations specified in column 1 of the Table below, for the letters and figures specified in column 2 of that Table there are substituted the letters and figures specified in column 3 of that Table—

(b) in regulation 15(1)(c), at the end add “or, in the case of a Class I or II vehicle, “VT 30M””;

(d) in regulation 16(2), after “VTP 30” add “or, if it relates to a Class I or II vehicle, “VT 30M””; and
(e) in regulation 16(2)(b), for “15(2)” there is substituted “15(3)”.

During the period commencing on the date when these Regulations come into force and ending on 31st December 1986, examiners and inspectors may continue to issue or provide—
(a) inspection check lists on the form marked “VT 29”;
(b) notices of refusal of a test certificate on the form marked “VT 21”; and
(c) notices of refusal of a test certificate where the braking test could not safely be carried out on the form marked “VT 22”.
