These Regulations may be cited as the Police Cadets (Amendment) Regulations 1982.

These Regulations shall come into operation on 12th April 1982 and shall have effect for the purposes of Regulation 3(d) as from 1st September 1981.

The Police Cadets Regulations 1979 shall be amended as follows:—
(a) after Regulation 4 there shall be inserted the following Regulation:—“


4A 
A candidate for appointment as a police cadet shall be given a notice describing the conditions of service relating to the appointment.
”
(b) in paragraph (5) of Regulation 5 (termination of service), the words “for misconduct” shall be omitted;
(c) Regulation 12 (medical examination) shall be omitted;
(d) for the Table in Schedule 2 (scales of pay) there shall be substituted the following Table:—“


Age London Provinces
Under 17 years £2,679 a year £2,286 a year
17 years £2,817 a year £2,424 a year
18 years or over £3,090 a year £2,697 a year
”
(e) for paragraph 2 of Schedule 3 (charge for board and lodging) there shall be substituted the following paragraph:—“

The annual rate of charge shall be—
(a) in the case of a police cadet attached to the City of London or Metropolitan Police force, £342;
(b) in any other case, £321.
