This Order may be cited as the Eurocontrol (Immunities and Privileges) (Amendment) Order 1980. It shall come into operation on the date on which the Protocol for the Amendment of the Additional Protocol to the “EURO-CONTROL” International Convention relating to Co-operation for the Safety of Air Navigation, signed at Brussels on 21st November 1978, enters into force in respect of the United Kingdom. That date shall be notified in the London, Edinburgh and Belfast Gazettes.

The Eurocontrol (Immunities and Privileges) Order 1970 shall be amended by inserting after Article 6 the following new Article:—“

(1) The officers and servants of the Organisation shall, as from the date on which the salaries and emoluments received by them as officers and servants of the Organisation become subject to taxation by the Organisation for its benefit, enjoy exemption from income tax in respect of such salaries and emoluments.
(2) Nothing in this Article shall be interpreted as precluding such salaries and emoluments from being taken into account for the purpose of assessing the amount of taxation to be applied to income from other sources.
