These Regulations may be cited as the Statutory Instruments (Amendment) Regulations 1977, and shall come into operation on 27th April 1977.

The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of these Regulations as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament, and as if for the purposes of section 38 of that Act these Regulations were an Act of Parliament and the provision revoked by Regulation 3 of these Regulations were an Act of Parliament thereby repealed.

The Statutory Instruments Regulations 1947, as amended, are hereby further amended by revoking the proviso to Regulation 10(1)(a) and substituting therefor the following proviso—“
Provided that copies of—
(i) instruments which have ceased to be in operation at the time of the completion of the annual edition, and
(ii) local instruments,
may be omitted;
”
