These Regulations may be cited as the Pensions Increase (Northern Ireland Reserved Services) Regulations 1976, and shall come into operation on 4th March 1976.

(1) Any reference in these Regulations to any enactment is a reference to that enactment as amended by or under, and includes a reference to that enactment as extended or applied by, any other enactment; and in this paragraph “enactment” includes an enactment of the Parliament of Northern Ireland.
(2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of these Regulations as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
3 
The Pensions (Increase) Act 1971 shall have effect in relation to the pensions specified in the Schedule to these Regulations as if they were specified in Part I of Schedule 2 to that Act.
4 
Any increase of pension payable by virtue of these Regulations shall take effect from 1st October 1975.

SCHEDULE
1 
A pension payable out of moneys provided by Parliament by virtue of section 12 of the Administration of Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 (caretakers of court-houses).
2 
A pension payable by way of compensation to Civil Defence employees under Regulations made under section 4 of the Public Expenditure and Receipts Act (Northern Ireland) 1968.
3 
A pension payable by virtue of section 6 of the Summary Jurisdiction and Criminal Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 1935 (resident magistrates).
