(1) These Rules may be cited as the Rules of the Supreme Court (Amendment No. 3) 1974 and shall come into operation on 1st October 1974.
(2) In these Rules an Order referred to by number means the Order so numbered in the Rules of the Supreme Court 1965, as amended, and a form referred to by number means the form so numbered in Appendix A to those Rules.
(3) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply to the interpretation of these Rules as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

In Order 47, rule 4, for the figure “£100” there shall be substituted the figure “£150”.

Appendix 3 to Order 62 shall be amended as follows:—
(a) For the figures “£100” and “£500”, wherever they appear, there shall be substituted the figures “£150” and “£650” respectively.
(b) For the basic costs set out in the scale following paragraph 2 of Part I there shall be substituted the following items:—

 (a) (b) (c)

“If the amount recovered is:—
not less than £150 but less than £650 9.00 11.00 14.00
not less than £650 10.25 16.00 21.00”.

In the note to Form 53 for the figure “£100” there shall be substituted the figure “£150”.

Nothing in these Rules shall apply to an action begun before 1st October 1974.
