This order may be cited as the Salmon and Migratory Trout (Enforcement) Order 1973 and shall come into operation on 13th March 1973.

The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of this order as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament and as if this order and the orders hereby revoked were Acts of Parliament.

The Salmon and Migratory Trout (Enforcement) Order 1971 and the Salmon and Migratory Trout (Enforcement) Order 1972 are hereby revoked.

For the purpose of the enforcement of (i) The Salmon (Northwest Atlantic) Order 1971, (ii) The Salmon and Migratory Trout (North-East Atlantic) Order 1972, (iii) The Salmon and Migratory Trout (Prohibition of Fishing) Order 1972, (iv) The Salmon and Migratory Trout (Prohibition of Fishing) (No. 2) Order 1972, and (v) The Salmon and Migratory Trout (Restrictions on Landing) Order 1972, and there are hereby conferred on every British sea-fishery officer the powers of a British sea-fishery officer under section 8(2) to (4) of the Sea Fisheries Act 1968.
