(1) This Order may be cited as the Industrial Training (Electricity Supply Board) (Revocation) Order 1973.
(2) Article 3 of this Order shall come into operation on 1st March 1974.
(3) The provisions of this Order, other than Article 3, shall come into operation on 1st January 1974.
(4) In this Order—
(a) “the Act” means the Industrial Training Act 1964 and references in this Order to sections are references to sections in the Act;
(b) “the Board” means the Electricity Supply Industry Training Board;
(c) “the electricity supply industry” means the industry described in the Industrial Training Order;
(d) “employer in the electricity supply industry” means any of the following, that is to say—


(i) the Electricity Council;

(ii) the Central Electricity Generating Board;

(iii) an Area Electricity Board;

(iv) the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board;

(v) the South of Scotland Electricity Board;

(vi) the London Transport Executive;
(e) “the Industrial Training Order” means the Industrial Training (Electricity Supply Board) Order 1965;
(f) “the remaining assets” means any amount by which the assets of the Board immediately before 1st March 1974 may exceed the amount which has been required to meet the liabilities of the Board and the expenses of the winding up.
(5) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply to the interpretation of this Order as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament and as if this Order and the Industrial Training Order were Acts of Parliament.

(1) The Board shall be wound up in accordance with the provisions of this Article.
(2) On the coming into operation of this Article the Board shall cease to exercise its functions except insofar as continued exercise of those functions may be necessary or expedient for the purpose of the winding up.
(3) Between the coming into operation of this Article and 1st March 1974 the Board shall discharge its liabilities.
(4) Immediately before 1st March 1974 the Board shall transfer to, or to the order of, the Secretary of State in such manner as he may direct the remaining assets of the Board and those assets shall be applied by the Secretary of State for the purpose specified in paragraph (5) of this Article.
(5) The specified purpose shall be the repayment (as the case may allow in whole or in part) of levies paid by employers in the electricity supply industry.
(6) The accounts of the Board up to 1st March 1974 shall be prepared and audited in accordance with section 8 and those accounts and the final report of the Board shall be laid before Parliament in accordance with that section.

The Industrial Training Order is hereby revoked.
