These Regulations may be cited as the Parliamentary Commissioner's Pension (Amendment) Regulations 1972, and shall come into operation on 20th April 1972.

(1) In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Parliamentary Commissioner's Pension Regulations 1967
(2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of these Regulations as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

In Regulation 2 of the Principal Regulations (Parliamentary Commissioner electing for the civil service scheme) the following paragraph shall be added after paragraph (3):—“

(4) Any reference in this Regulation to the Superannuation Act 1965 or to section 13 of that Act shall be construed as a reference to the provisions of that Act or that section, as the case may be, as having effect, by virtue of section 2(12) of the Superannuation Act 1972, as part of the civil service scheme.
”

In Regulation 5(1) of the principal Regulation (interpretation), for the definition of “the civil service scheme”, there shall be substituted the following definition:—“

 “the civil service scheme” means the principal civil service pension scheme within the meaning of section 2 of the Superannuation Act 1972 and for the time being in force;
”.
