This Order may be cited as the Immigration (Revocation of Employment Restrictions) Order 1972 and shall come into operation on 1st January 1973.

In this Order “the Order of 1953” means the Aliens Order 1953, as amended.

(1) Any employment restriction which, by virtue of section 34(3) of the Immigration Act 1971, applies to an alien who is a national of a state which is a member of the European Economic Community is hereby revoked.
(2) In this Article “employment restriction” means —

(a) any landing condition imposed under Article 5 of the Order of 1953 or any condition treated as a landing condition so imposed by virtue of Article 6 of that Order;

(b) any restriction imposed by any Order made under Article 22 of the Order of 1953; or

(c) any restriction imposed by virtue of paragraph 3 of Schedule 1 to the Order of 1953,

which prohibits an alien from or imposes restrictions on taking employment or engaging in any occupation in the United Kingdom.
