The limit of £105 million which, by subsection (5) of section 1 of the Rural Water Supplies and Sewerage Act 1944 as amended by the Rural Water Supplies and Sewerage Act 1965, is imposed on the amount of the contributions which may be made under that section out of moneys provided by Parliament towards the expenses of local authorities in England and Wales in respect of rural water supplies and sewerage is hereby removed; and accordingly for that subsection there shall be substituted the following subsection:—“
(5) Any contributions made under this section shall be defrayed out of moneys provided by Parliament.”

(1) This Act may be cited as the Rural Water Supplies and Sewerage Act 1971.
(2) The Rural Water Supplies and Sewerage (No. 2) Act 1955, the said Act of 1965 and in section 1(3) of the Rural Water Supplies and Sewerage Act 1955 the words " or, as the case may be, by the said subsection (5) " are hereby repealed.
(3) This Act does not extend to Scotland except so far as it relates to the said section 1(3) and does not extend to Northern Ireland.
