The Visiting Forces (Designation) Order, 1954,
shall extend to each of the territories mentioned in the Schedule to this Order:
Provided that for the purposes of
its extension to any of those territories the Visiting Forces (Designation)
Order, 1954, shall have effect as if—

(a) in section 1 thereof for the words “Each of the countries specified in the 
Schedule to this Order” there
were substituted the words “The United States of America”
;
(b) the Schedule thereto was omitted;
and
(c) the reference
in section 1 thereof
to the Visiting Forces Act, 1952,
was a reference to that Act as it extends to that territory by virtue of the Visiting Forces Act (Application
to Colonies) Order, 1954.

(1) This Order may be cited
as the Visiting Forces (Designation) (Colonies) Order, 1954, and shall come
into operation on the twelfth day of June, 1954.
(2) The Interpretation Act, 1889,
shall apply for the purpose of interpreting this Order as it applies for the
purpose of interpreting an Act of Parliament.

(Reference in this Schedule to any territory of which there are
dependencies shall be construed as including a reference to such dependencies).
